One of my favorite jewelers is Buccellati. This jeweler exemplifies high jewelry and gorgeous craftsmanship. Imagine italian artisans carving wax versions of every jewelry piece, creating each detail and hole (and if you see their jewelry you can see each jewelry piece is very complex). However, this icon in the jewelry industry is able to be found on ebay for sale. While each piece I have seen is very high quality, it’s still on ebay. Now the question is this - would you buy a piece of high end jewelry on ebay? I’m not sure I feel comfortable handing over my bank account information for something as large as this to a strange user, not to mention trusting the quality of the jewelry. However, maybe ebay is how antique jewelry will be sold in the future. Let me know your thoughts!
